André Bonhomme Viré-Clessé Cuvée Spéciale 2022
Experience the exceptional craftsmanship of Domaine André Bonhomme with the Viré-Clessé Cuvée Spéciale 2022, a distinguished white Burgundy from the Mâconnais region.
Winery Background: Founded in 1956 by André Bonhomme, this family-owned estate spans approximately 12 hectares of organically farmed vineyards in Viré and Clessé. André Bonhomme was instrumental in establishing the Viré-Clessé appellation, elevating the recognition of this unique terroir. Today, the winery is managed by his daughter Jacqueline, her husband Éric Palthey, and their sons Aurélien and Johan, who continue the legacy of producing high-quality wines with respect for tradition and the environment.
Vineyard and Vinification: The Chardonnay grapes for this cuvée are sourced from vines aged between 45 and 75 years, planted on clay-limestone soils in the hills northwest of the estate. These old vines yield low quantities of high-quality fruit, harvested by hand to ensure optimal ripeness. Fermentation occurs naturally in a combination of stainless steel vats and oak casks, followed by 12 months of aging, which imparts both freshness and complexity to the wine.
Tasting Notes:
- Appearance: Youthful color with golden-green hues.
- Aroma: Fresh and fruity, featuring notes of pear and apple, complemented by hints of hazelnut and a distinct mineral nuance.
- Palate: Lively and round, with a medium body and silky texture. Flavors of ripe yellow fruits and hazelnut are balanced by a refreshing minerality, leading to a long, persistent finish.
Food Pairing: This versatile wine pairs excellently with roasted fish accompanied by white sauces, poultry dishes, and soft cheeses.
Serving Recommendations: Serve chilled at 10–12°C to fully appreciate its aromatic profile and elegance.
Indulge in the harmonious balance of fruit, freshness, and minerality with the André Bonhomme Viré-Clessé Cuvée Spéciale 2022—a true reflection of the esteemed Viré-Clessé terroir.
