100% Monastrell, Casa Castillo, 2023, Jumilla DO, Spain
A bold and expressive red wine from one of Spain’s Monastrell masters. Casa Castillo Monastrell 2023 reflects the rugged, sun-drenched landscape of Jumilla, offering intensity, structure, and purity of fruit. This cuvée comes from vines aged between 5 and 37 years, rooted in calcareous and sandy soils at altitudes up to 760 meters — conditions that deliver both ripeness and elegance.
After manual harvesting, fermentation is carried out using native yeasts at controlled temperatures, preserving varietal character. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, gaining complexity while allowing the vibrant fruit to shine.
