Tasting Notes: Barbera d'Alba Giuli 2023 boasts a very intense ruby-red color. The aroma is rich, with vibrant notes of red fruits and subtle hints of spice and cinnamon from its maturation in wood. On the palate, it offers impressive persistence and harmony, with great aging potential in the bottle.
Curiosity: The nickname "Giuli" comes from Giulio, the brother of Geert's great-grandfather Pietro, who originally planted the vineyards that now produce Barbera d'Alba Giuli.
Tasting note Robin Fennis: “Giuli; Barbera from 60 yr old vines. Dark-colored, concentrated nose; impressions of bark, vanilla, and a little cherry. Generally a more mature impression; warmer vintage. Med+ acidity and tannins. Good balance and notable complexity here. Med+ finish. Very good. 15/16 pts”
