Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère – Bordeaux – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru – France
Château Trianon – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru (2014) is a dark and characterful wine that excels in balance and approachability. This vintage is a refined assemblage of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Carménère. It opens with expressive aromas of dark cherries and subtle spices, complemented by elegant notes of French oak from 15 months of aging in barriques. On the palate, the wine is supple and round, offering soft contours and a harmonious structure that makes it both indulgent and sophisticated.
The 2014 vintage is a classic expression of the estate’s precision, showcasing a beautiful evolution of fruit and a smooth, aromatic finish. It is a versatile Grand Cru that pairs wonderfully with classic meat dishes such as roasted lamb, veal, or duck with a berry reduction.
About the estate Château Trianon has deep historical roots dating back to the 17th century and is located just outside the medieval village of Saint-Émilion. In 2000, the estate was purchased and revitalized by Dominique Hébrard, former co-owner of Château Cheval Blanc, one of Bordeaux’s most iconic names. Under his direction, Trianon has been transformed into a modern Grand Cru with a focus on precision and elegance. The vineyard is planted primarily with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rare Carménère, grown on the clay-limestone soils that give Saint-Émilion its distinctive finesse and complexity.
