Corvina 45%, Corvinone 45%, Rondinella 5%, Croatina 5% – Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Riserva, 2016, Veneto, Italy
A masterful expression of Amarone tradition, the Burato 2016 Riserva is a wine of exceptional depth and elegance. Crafted from organically farmed vineyards in the limestone-rich hills of Valpolicella, this wine reflects meticulous viticulture and extended aging.
Vineyard & Harvest:
The vineyards are cultivated using the pergola system with organic methods, at a density of 4,600 vines per hectare on limestone soils. Yields are limited to 90 quintals per hectare, achieved through two rounds of thinning from veraison to harvest. Grapes are hand-harvested in mid-September and undergo a drying process of at least three months in small crates to concentrate flavors.
Vinification & Aging:
Fermentation occurs in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. The wine is then aged for 48 months in 20-hectoliter French oak barrels, followed by a minimum of 2 years in bottle before release.
